Ever have one of those weekends where everything just felt right? Is it a coincidence that this usually happens on 3 day weekends?
Coincidence? I THINK NOT.
Whoever's ready to sign my petition for 4 day work weeks, just shoot me an e-mail. 😉
So Valentines Day was last week and I'm ashamed to say I didn't get anything for Rob. Amidst the hustle and bustle of sending Valentines Day cards, baking and a hectic schedule, Valentines Day just snuck up on me. Since this is our 7th Valentines Day together, I chose to just forgive myself and write him an IOU for his next pricey must-have tech gadget. Love ya babe.
But Rob wasn't a slacker. He showed up at my work with balloons, chocolate and lunch. Then he surprised me with a hotel reservation for Anaheim this Thursday and Friday! Since December, I've been the budget nazi and convinced myself that we had to cut back on L.A. trips to save for the wedding. Hence Rob buys non-refundable hotel stays just to make sure we go. Contrary to how agreeable everyone thinks Rob is, he is as stubborn as a mule, that man. On Valentines Day, he treated me to my favorite meal (as always), sushi.
Sushi = Love
During the 3 day weekend, one of our dearest couple friends ask us to housesit for them. They just purchased this brand spankin new house, fully furnished and gorgeous, so naturally we practically begged them to let us stay there. Plus they have this handsome pup named Kai who we happen to adore. So Rob and I got to play house this weekend, which was fun. We realized that there's a chance we may never want to leave the house again, once we have a place of our own. It's way too easy to get into sweatpants, drink a glass of wine or two and watch an endless stream of movies, when the only people to judge you, are yourselves.
My friend Casey will totally tear up to this picture. This is Kai waiting for Mom and Dad to get home!
And lastly for the weekend grand finale, 2 of my amazing Aunts invited us out to wine tasting at a local winery. And by local, they meant this is no more than 20 minutes away from my house. I. Die. And it's not just any winery, it's Bogle. Bogle wine is delicious, trust me on this. Their tasting room is beautiful, where you get the liberty of choosing 6 tastings from their knowledgeable staff and snacking on some cheese and crackers. Then you walk out to their patio and overlook the gorgeous winery and beautiful picnic area. It was stunning. If you know anything about me and how much I LOVE: 1.picnics, 2. natural sunlight and 3.wine, you can understand that my mind was blown. It was one of the best afternoons I've had in a long time. My Aunt's dear friend (and soon to be BFF) Kelly bought us a bottle of Moscato to picnic with and needless to say it was gone quickly. Their Moscato is to DIE for.
Empty bottle = Great wine!
Don't worry folks, Bogle will be making another appearance on this blog soon, probably with its own entry. It's that amazing!
Thank you to my dear Auntie Gilda and Auntie Jan for the most LOVELY afternoon!
Nothing makes me feel better than a great weekend spent.
What's your favorite weekend activity?
Headed to Anaheim Thursday for our belated Valentines Day Celebration! 🙂
