By far, my favorite part about blogging is building a community of blog friends. I know to any non-bloggers out there, the idea of making friends through virtually sharing our lives with complete strangers sounds kinda crazy. But honestly, I talk to some of my blog friends more than ones that I see regularly. They're women who share similar interests with me. We exchange text messages, send cards via snail mail and meet up when we're visiting each others' cities on vacation (a.k.a. I have SO many friends to visit all over the U.S.). So for those folks out there with the judging eyes, you're really missing out people, trust me.
When one of my blog BFF's Melissa decided to make a trip to California from Indiana, I knew I had to be there. And no, I wasn't catfished.
Lucky for me, the only full day I had in LA was on Rima's birthday! We went to Bottega Louie for brunch, which was amazing. I'm still having dreams about their chocolate hazelnut beignets. Then we met up with Gaby at the Santa Monica pier for some frolicking on the beach. We went to Urth Cafe for some drinks and dessert and did a little bit of thrifting. It was the first girls day I've had in a long time and it was so much fun. It really felt like we'd known each other for years and were just reuniting for the weekend. Love you ladies, I miss our long texts deciding on where we're going to eat!
I also had the pleasure of seeing Nicole on this trip! I've met Nicole before and I can't sing enough praises of her. She was one of the first BFFs I made in the blogging world and when we hang out, it feels like something we do every weekend. She's a fellow psychology lover (girlfriend is getting her Ph.D., give her props!) and we have so much in common, it's ridiculous. Have I mentioned she's newly engaged too? We did a little bit of wedding talk. 😉 I'm so glad that Nicole made some time to come see me, I absolutely loved it.
I feel so lucky to have friends everywhere we go! It's weird sometimes how you can read all about a blog friend's life everyday but not necessarily know where they're from.
I'd love if you left me a comment and let me know where your hometown is! Also what your favorite local restaurant is too, in case I come visit. 🙂
