Casual Friday: 4th of July and Winning!

I have to admit, I scoffed at the idea of having Thursday off instead of Friday. But yesterday felt like a mini version of the weekend and I could not be more excited that 8 hours of work is all that stands between me and the REAL weekend. SO. EXCITED.

The 4th of July yesterday was a pretty great day. I woke up relatively late (My body agreed to let me sleep until 8 :00 am, it was a MIRACLE), hit the gym, went swimming at our 2nd family's pool, and then went to a 4th of July party. All in all, a great 4th! How was yours?

I'd been itching for a DIY lately so I stopped by the craft store and made a few bows for us to wear yesterday. They were so fun and easy to make and I've already had a request to make some for a team. Maybe I'll start selling these to fund buying sponsorships on other blogs? 🙂

I've been a giveaway winning machine lately and it's been awesome! First I won this Datevitation coupon book from one my blog besties, Allie at A Day in a Joyful Life right before Father's Day so I used it to supplement my Daddy's gift. He loved all the coupons, especially the one where I said I'd do a week's worth of our families' laundry. Eek.

Then the fabulous Setarra over at Quaintrelle gave away a $25 gift certificate to Groupon, which I won. I cannot tell you how obsessed I am with Groupon, especially Groupon goods. They have this self inking stamp I've been eyeing, a wine decanter, or this triceps crunch rope I could totally use. I'm a total sucker for deal websites.

And since the weekend is upon us, take some time to click through some great posts I read this week!

Ruthy threw a Madmen themed birthday party and it looked awesome.

Ashley gave some great recommendations on how to style shelves. She is my home decor guru!

Stephanie shared a peach upside down cake that looks ridiculously good.

Elle featured a beachy waves spray recipe I can't wait to try.

Nicole has a giveaway for a portable wine cup I'm dying to win! Pick meeeeeee.

How was your 4th of July? Any fun plans this weekend?

Have a great weekend dear friends!

xo, Evani

  1. Thank you so much for including my peach upside down cake in your link list! Those bows are super cute. Highly recommend getting a self inking stamp... you will wish you had gotten one years ago! Have a wonderful weekend, Evani!

  2. We (obviously) don't celebrate 4th of July, but I did go on a party anyway. It was Great Gatsby themed! 🙂 Great link love!
