Don’t Compare

Happy Hump Day everyone!

So I've been thinking lately about my blog and how I can best serve you, my readers. I hate that somedays I just don't have the time, energy or content for a entry. But the fact is, I haven't been successful at pre-writing entries because nearly everything I write is a by-product of the night before (good planning, #not). I guess in a sense, I treat my blog like a diary because I write it in real time and I like relating to my readers that way. But that seems to produce some mediocre entries from time to time.

I spent most of yesterday evening contemplating what I wanted to do to create better content for all of you. I thought about the blogs that have beautiful posts everyday like A Beautiful Mess and Cupcakes and Cashmere and I realized, Simply Evani is thousands of miles away from that (And that's okay!).  We're less than a year old (established March 2012) and if we never get to that point, that's 100% okay too. Because at the end of the day,  Simply Evani is everything I want it to be and MORE. Because of all of you.

So thank you for reading and thank you for putting up with the "fluff" entries. I'm going to try to organize better and feel free to share YOUR suggestions on how you create meaningful content. I think I need to commit to an Erin Condren Planner in 2013 or something to help me organize my blog better. What do you do?

I'm sorry not everyday will be a showstopper but hey, that's my life. I'm just happy you're even along for the ride!

Loving you all!

P.S. I know there's a LOT of irony in writing this fluff entry about fluff entries.. haha but honestly I was interested in knowing how other bloggers create meaningful entries everyday!

  1. I don't know if you've noticed, but this month, I have nothing BUT a bunch of fluff posts. To be honest, we would all love to be successful bloggers, but I think a lot of us are also not paid to be a blogger. We have a regular job with a regular life and we blog because it's fun! Head up, chin up and just do what you're doing now 🙂

  2. Evani, getting this a year into blogging is awesome! Everywhere we go there is pressure to compare but at the end of the day it is in being yourself that people want to relate to. I haven't gotten a chance to respond to your question about blogging and not joining in a lot of link up parties and pretty much what you just shared can sum it up pretty well! I have really tried working on producing content that is me and not about getting more numbers. And in finally accepting that I think more people want to come around and hang out and read. It also prompted me to work on a new series coming up on simple blogging. So thank you for the question and motivation to answer some of those questions!
