Good Eats: The Porch Brunch

This weekend was a goody. Rob and I fell in love with a venue and visited my dream church, where we tentatively penciled our date in at both locations. I also had a really fun time at the bridal expo with my Mom and my sister. On Wednesday, I plan to share more about our wedding adventures this weekend so stay tuned! 🙂

I love few things in this world as much as I love brunch. I don't know if its the rebel in me (hah!) that loves eating breakfast for lunch or if it's just the relaxed atmosphere but I cannot get enough of a good brunch. So I was overjoyed to find this gem in Sacramento that serves up a brunch to die for!

Their banana bread french toast is absolutely incredible and their Porch house potatoes were spot on. Rob loved the chorizo omelette, and he's not even much of a breakfast or brunch person. And frankly I'm a total sucker for places that serve water in mason jars (am I so hipster or what?). The Porch also changes their menu frequently to reflect seasonal availability and local grown food, which is also good in my book. If you're ever in Sacramento, give me a heads up and we'll head to this Sactown treasure together!

Are you a fan of brunch? Tell me your favorite brunch spot or dish, I'd love to know!

Have a great start to your week!

  1. I know its a fallacy, but I hate eating breakfast. So I don't like going to brunches since I'm basically only eating the lunch portion of the meal.

  2. Oh my gosh I'm practically drooling, brunch is my FAVORITE meal! We had our wedding in the morning so that I could have french toast at the reception :). Speaking of weddings, I can't wait to read about your wedding planning-filled weekend! Enjoy every moment!

  3. It all looks so good! I'm so hungry right now. LOL. I love brunch. My favorite place here in Indy is called Cafe Patachou. They have great omelets and the best croissant french toast. I also like drinking out of jars. I've got a cupboard full of salsa jars that are perfect from drinking from and for storing single servings of soup for work or whatever.

I can't wait to see more wedding stuff. I bet you're a pinning fool with ideas right now.

  4. Brunch is my favorite! Unless you put breakfast for dinner in a different category... than I would need some time to think it over. I really think I could eat breakfast all. day. long.
    Is that so wrong?
    This brunch looks exceptionally amazing!

Ev, this place looks cute! I'm sure you've been, but if you haven't, you MUST go to Tower Cafe. Hands down, BEST French Toast I've ever had in my LIFE. One of the places that makes me regret moving to SoCal, LOL. And it's right around your neighborhood!
