Rule number 1: I’m always late

Hayyyy party people!

(Don't mind me, that's my vacation voice. It involves addressing everyone as if we're at a party.)

Sooooo is today November 2nd already? Fail whale. I'm going to blame it on jetlag.

So when we booked a flight to Seattle on Halloween night, I decided I wanted to fly in costume. Specifically walk through security with costumes and spread Halloween cheer. Instead we got an empty airport and uninterested looks from business professionals, minus our flight attendant who may or may not have been intoxicated. Anyhoot, everyone from around these parts knows I am a Disney aficionado and I've had short cowboy boots I've been dying to wear so naturally Woody and Buzz were the costumes I set my sights on.

Rob doesn't do much for Halloween other than wearing a themed t-shirt so when I saw these Disney shirts running around, I knew that had to be it. My boyfriend is 6'3 with a football player build and Disney doesn't sell beyond a XL so I made it by hand painting it (with the help of my sister). Using painters tape, acrylic paint and puff paint, I was definitely so happy with how it turned out.

For Woody, I knew I wanted to do cuftoffs and my cowboy boots. I found the long sleeve yellow shirt, used a red sharpie to draw the checkered pattern and made the cow print vest out of a white t-shirt and black paint. Found the hat and bandana at JoAnns. So simple!

The finished product. Can't wait to wear it to Disneyland sometime soon!

I'll make an entire entry of this DIY someday soon so keep an eye out! 🙂

I was still desperately blow drying the puff paint buttons when Rob picked me up for the airport at 6:30 pm. Ah, procrastinating, my strong suit.

RIGHT NOW as I'm writing this entry, my left eye has started twitching, its making the computer feel like it's shaking and it won't stop. 🙁 I desperately want to keep blogging (I mean I'm already one day behind! GAH) but I'll be back tomorrow, I promise!

Welcome all my new readers from Glossy Blonde! Hope you stick around for the long haul 🙂 Enter her latest giveaway here, it's a goodie!

P.S. If you're in the Seattle area and would like to meet up, please feel free to drop me a line either in a comment or on twitter! I LOVE meeting other bloggers in person! We're staying over by UW.

  1. omg, your costume is adorable! Looks like you went to quite a bit of effort for it as well. Too bad the people at the airport couldn't appreciate you spreading the Halloween cheer. At least you can share it online 🙂

  2. You did such a great job with your costumes. You look great and like you were ready to have a fun time! It would've made my day if you would have shown up on my flight. 🙂

  3. If I would have saw the two of you in an airport, I would have definitely snapped a photo. I love Halloween and people who love it just as much as I do.

His t-shirt/costume came out wonderful! You and your sister did a great job!
