Simply Celebrating: Robin's Fab 40

Happy Hump Day everyone!

I'm guest posting at one of my FAVORITE blogs today, Glossy Blonde! Check it out here and follow the fabulous Niki while you're at it (You won't regret it, she's FABULOUS)!

I planned this birthday party for one of our close family friends (practically our second Mom) and when we thought up decorations, we played around with a Sex and the City theme. So I knew I wanted feathers, pearls and martini glasses included.
None of the food is pictured but there was a delicious pasta dish and cheesy garlic bread. My sister and I baked all the desserts (recipes to come in the future) and the signature drink was a take on the Igloo SueΒ which was FABULOUS (take my word for it). I made the banner and food tags in Photoshop and hung the banner on strands of pearls. The party was so lovely, we drank yummy drinks out of the martini glasses and watched Sex and the City for a total girls night!

For now, planning parties is just a hobby and I do most of the decorating out of my own pocket (But I did receive a crafting store gift certificate, thank you so much Ms. Robin!) so I'm really happy with how it turned out on my hobby budget. I definitely have an obsession with creating something out of nothing and making things beautiful without having to spend too much money.

What are some of your budget-friendly party ideas?

Hope you make it over the hump okay!

Thank you Alex! πŸ™‚ I love SATC too, surprisingly when I googled party ideas, everything came up bright pink and too overt. I wanted it to be a little more subtle but still sexy! I appreciate your sweet comment, hope things are going well on your side of the world!

  2. I think you need to plan and decorate for my next birthday. You have 3 months so you should probably start getting ready since I'm older than dirt.
