Before we get started, I guest posted (a good read for all you girls in a long term relationship) over at one of my favorite blogs, Tammy's Lemons, Avocados and the Bay while she's in Israel. So feel free to stop by, get to know Tammy's blog and leave me some comment love, I would really appreciate it! 🙂

It's that time again friends....

Let's Get Physical April!

April2013LGP

So personal training has been going really well. I haven't missed a session yet so that means I am at the gym at least twice a week (which is 200% more than I used to go before I hired one). I'll blog about my experience with personal training soon, maybe as a mid-point check in for April. 🙂 So while I'm getting to be more physically active, I do feel like I need to work on other aspects. For some reason, March was a month that Rob and I decided to "act our own age" and that means I've had a few more glasses of beer, wine and late night bites. I need to make sure to account for that extra fun we're having. Also, I'm making a bigger effort to pick better food when we're eating out. Goodbye cheese fries, deep fried fish and pasta. It's time to quit cheating myself by acting like eating out is an excuse to splurge, it's NOT.

I've been reading Mama Laughlin lately to get my pumped for my weight loss. She is not only hilarious and basically everything I want to be, she's lost so much weight (the healthy way) and looks amazing!  I've got a short 2 months until engagement photos and roughly 14 months until the wedding. It's now or never!

Don't forget, if you link up, please comment on (at least) the 2 blogs above your link! For more detailed instructions on how to link up, here it is.

It's only a few months until summer and beach season, do you have any fitness goals you're working towards?

Anyone have any low calorie advice on beer and wine? 😉

Another week down and March is here already! Does anyone else feel like this year is moving at light speed? Time for Casual Friday (and if you didn't catch my first one, here it is).

Margs

What I would do to have a Margarita at the Happiest Place on Earth right now....

Scarf2

Awhile back, I ordered a custom infinity scarf from the amazing Melissa of issa.ino. Not only did she send me an amazing scarf, she sent me some extra goodies, including a sewn pouch that she made and nail polishes that are my favorite colors.
Melissa Scarf

Here's the scarf in action. I absolutely LOVE it, it's soft and warm without being too thick or  constricting. Thanks Melissa, it's one of my favorite winter pieces! Speaking of Melissa, time for the monthly goals link up:

February Goals Finish

So I hit 4/5 of my goals. I did donate clothing, sent a ton of Valentines day cards via snail mail, spent very little (except for the Old Navy's sale 2 days ago, you got me Old Navy!) and I read the 50 shades trilogy. 😉 More on that later.

MarchGoals

So in March, I'm definitely going to cook my family a meal! And I'm wanting to become more knowledgeable in wines so I've set my bar high. Also, I'm looking to spend more time doing crafts and party planning related posts so look out for that this month!

LovelyLinks

Lastly, as part of Casual Friday, I wanted to add something for the blogs that are near and dear to my heart. Some of my favorite bloggers (Niki at Glossy Blonde and Lyss at The Barn) share their favorite links throughout the week. I'm going to share some of my reader's posts, because their blogs are my favorite reads.

Mish posted a letter that a lot of 20-somethings might relate to.

Another newly engaged blog love Tammy shared a close up of her beautiful ring.

One of my new favorite blogs to read, Alyssa shares a Peach, Prosciutto and Cheese crostini.

My Filipina soul sister Chris does a weekly post called Pay Day/Any Day that rocks.

Stephanie shared some Devil's Food Cake S'mores Cookies that look so tasty.

Any links you saw this week that you'd like to share?

Weekend plans?

Here's the how-to and a sample of January's LGP! We've love to have you join in!

The good news about the monster flu is that it's basically over now. The bad news is that symptoms take about 2 full weeks to go away. If you've had the monster flu, I feel for you, sending you all my love! I highly recommend Parenthood on Netflix if you're stuck at home running a fever. 😉

Any February goals you're working on? Any fitness related?

Are there other Parenthood fans out there?

Happy Wednesday!

First of all, thank you for all your amazingly sweet  comments on our engagement video. Part of what excites me about blogging is knowing that it's a virtual record that'll be around forever and I'm so happy to have such wonderful friendships and comments to reflect on when it comes to our engagement. Thank you so much. <3

It's the first Let's Get Physical for the new year! Yippee!

I know everyone either loves or hates making new years resolutions about fitness. But honestly, fitness is a year round topic here with Let's Get Physical! In 2013, I vow to be more accountable to what I post about for the month and I hope you join me!

In case you've never done Let's Get Physical before, here's a How to. And here's a little background on why I started Let's Get Physical.

Last night, as I was at the gym for the first time in MONTHS, I realized I wanted this to kick start a lifetime of exercise for me. And that meant not pushing myself so hard that I was sore for the next 3 days. Or forcing myself to do runs at inclines that I exacerbate my shin splints. I realized that for this to be a lifestyle change, I had to change my mentality about how hard that 60 minutes of exercise a day, that everyone recommends, really had to be. Any motion is good motion. Even a snail pace on a treadmill is better than an hour sitting on the bed watching TV. So I made sure to do enough exercise to be tired but not too much to where I didn't want to come back tomorrow. And that's what I'll be working on in 2013! How about you, do you have an overall goal?

The Let's Get Physical link up  is open for a full week (it closes on 01/16/2013 at 11:30 pm PST) so if you didn't link up today, feel free to write an entry later this week.

Don’t forget the ONLY rule of LGP is to visit the top 2 links above yours and leave them an encouraging comment or fitness tip to help them along their journey! If you want to rock the house, feel free to comment on everyone! (And if you REALLY rock, come back on 01/16 and leave comments on people who linked up later in the week!)
