Happy Almost Friday everyone!

So in tweet/text exchanges with 3 of my blog besties (Rima, Melissa and Nicole), I'm missing Disneyland again. And it got me thinking about why I love that place so darn much. I've always loved Disneyland but I think when I saw World of Color for the first time in August of 2010, it completely reinvigorated my love for everything Disney. World of Color definitely tops my list of must-sees at Disneyland.

World of Color is a water show at California Adventure, I always describe it as the Bellagio fountains on crack. The use the rollercoaster and ferris wheel as part of the show and they work with projected images like they do with Fantasmic. And of course it's set to a beautiful soundtrack full of classic Disney stories.

The first time I saw World of Color, I HAD to see it again the next day. And since then, we've even built trips specifically for seeing World of Color (including a 48 hour trip to Disneyland with my college roommates). I know admitting this make me seem a smidge insane but like I always say, I speak from the heart 'round these parts. This is who I am!

Also, World of Color does change slightly based on the season. They will add clips of new Disney movies or holiday themed story lines, which makes it a little different almost every time of year. I love that.

I've seen World of Color from virtually every angle (recently, we even walked around it entirely so I've even seen it from behind!) and I think my favorite place to view it from is the bridge. Most of these photos are from the bridge.

All Photos taken with my iPhone 4s (can't wait to try out panorama on my new 5!)

How to View: If you're ever at the Happiest Place on Earth, specifically California Adventure, absolutely don't pass up the opportunity to see this show. It requires a (free) fastpass, that doesn't affect ride fast passes and it gives you a specific section to stand in. They distribute the fastpasses over by Grizzly River Run and if you're serious about viewing, I would head straight to the fastpasses right when the park opens just to get the best section. You can pre- order meals from Ariel's Grotto and Wine Trattoria that offer reserved seating as well without having to get the fastpass like everyone else, which is great if you have the money to spare!

Anyhoot, at least editing those picture will get me through until my next trip, hopefully in November! I might be going with Rob while he has work so that means I'll have full days to myself either in the hotel or at the parks so I'd love to meet up with any SoCal bloggers or Disney enthusiasts like myself. :)

What's your favorite part of the Disney parks? Have you seen World of Color?

Happy Hump Day!

So I've been sitting at my computer thinking about how I plan on writing this without seeming completely nuts. As most of you probably know, I looooooove Disneyland. And I know there are people who totally get the judging eyes on when I talk about how many times I go a year (as an adult) because everyone assumes its for kids or people with kids. I want to say I don't care but honestly, it does make me really self conscious about talking about it. But at the end of the day, Disneyland is part of who I am so if you judge me for loving it, I guess technically I don't want you reading anyways!

There are so many reasons why I love Disneyland but I think it's difficult to explain. It's more of a feeling than it is reason (other Disney enthusiasts will agree with me!). But I'm gonna to share my favorite artsy-fartsy pictures I've snapped at the parks and some of the reasons why I love it so much!

Beautiful Giant Castle. 'Nuff said.

No matter where you are, there's almost always a "view" at Disneyland.

I'm still crying a little about the California letters being gone but I love the retro feel to the new California Adventure.

I love the Pacific Wharf, mostly for the UH-mazing Margarita Stand and Karl Strauss Beer Truck but the new Ghiradelli doesn't hurt either ;) Did I mention there's a Starbucks now too?!

No one can deny the detail Disney puts into small details of the park. This is a restroom area!

California Adventure's Mickey wheel over Paradise Bay is something I could watch all day.

The line of Indiana Jones is usually horrendous. But the detail they put in the "waiting" areas especially of this ride, is undeniable.

Disneyland almost never has a bulb out. Considering the number of bulbs around the park...

You could walk by this pond all day without noticing anything spectacular. But at certain intervals at night, there's a mini light show that happens prior to the fireworks. It's such a trivial detail but it's one of the ways that Disney always strives to make your money worth it.

I absolutely LOVE how Disneyland is different between night and day. Seeing the transition never ceases to amaze me.

All photos were taken by my iPhone 4s.

I've been going to Disneyland since I was little and the wonderful part is that the Disneyland Resort has almost grown up with me. They added California Adventure (a very adult friendly park), built more thrill-centric rides (not for the kids), and now they serve alcoholic beverages (all of these things happened in my lifetime!). Oh trust me, there are millions more reasons I call it my second home (holiday decorations, World of Color, food and drinks), but those are for future entries...

Have you ever been to Disneyland? What's your favorite parts?

Do you have a place that you simply feel connected to?

Hope you make it over the HUMP okay!

Happy Monday readers!

Vacation so far has been incredible (Santa Barbara is like California's version of heaven) but I'll share pictures and stories about SB when we get home. Since we're headed to Disneyland tomorrow, I thought it'd be fun to share my must-haves for a day at the Happiest Place on Earth (Take it from someone who goes 1-5 times a year) ! Introducing my newest segment:

Waterbottle/Sunglasses/Sweater/Ring /Hat/Clinique/Rainbows

7 things you need for a great day at the park in warm weather:

- A Light Sweater - You need one you can bother carrying all day but perfect for the occasionally cold Anaheim nights.

- Comfortable Shoes - I love the comfort my broken-in Rainbow flip flops but others might suggest running shoes or something with a thick sole since you do a ton of standing/walking.

- Disney Swag - This 7 dwarfs ring is AMAZING. But a simple red minnie bow or sweet Mickey ears count too. Or get a free pin at City Hall if you're celebrating something! *Free alert*

- Refillable Waterbottle - As everyone knows Disneyland is expensive. Drinking free water from the restaurants or water fountains can save a pretty penny!

- Sunglasses - In the Southern California sun, sunglasses are just as functional as they are stylish.

- Sunblock - I'm Filipino so I rarely EVER burn but the only place in my life I have burned is at Disneyland when my nose peeled for 2 weeks straight. I cannot live through summer or Disneyland without my Clinique Cityblock!

- Hat - Any hat will do but make sure you feel comfortable sticking it in a ride's tiny velcro bag if you plan on going on rides like Space Moutain or Screamin California.

There are plenty more extras to bring to enhance your visit (snacks, a change of clothes, a million dollars) but my list covers the bare necessities! I can't wait to snap some photos at Disneyland tomorrow so follow me on instagram (Egatsby88) or Twitter (SimplyEvani) to follow along! :)

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Take a moment to thank any and all armed forces for their service to our country!
